Tja, jag skrev ett brev o frågade om han ville ha en bössa.
Jepp, svarade han (något mer formellt förvisso!).

Jag har fått kontakt med trevlige Frej ang. dekoration.

Det blir nog färdigställt till hösten då jag just nu hjälper ett helt gäng armborstbyggare att bli klara till sommaren.

2.koka albark i vatten (luktar mycket illa) koka i ca 1,5-2 timmar, sila bort barken, koka bort det mesta av vattnet, kvar får du välling av brun/röd färg som är ett utmärkt färgämne för horn, trä, läder osv. Ofta använt färgämne för t.ex Sameslöjd.

Finnes det någon som kan hjälpa mig att snida kungens "bomärke" o kanske några andra horndekorationer.
Denne horndekoratör kommer naturligtvis att vara med vid överlämnandet.
Någon knivmakare kanske ?

Risken att slinta med dremel är alldeles för stor & gör man det är det bara att slakta skiten sen, eller slipa ned till en ny yta om man har tålamod till det och hornet räcker till.

Infärgningen kan göras på en mängd olika sätt, men en variant är att göra en pasta med pigment och lämpligt bindemedel som man sedan gnuggar in i spåren.
Halvolja är väl smidigast på ett sätt men med den eventuella nackdelen att även oornerat horn drar åt sig färg. Men det gulnar ju ändå med tiden så det är en smaksak.

En annan variant är att blanda pigmentet med vanligt trälim, vilket bara färgar spåren men ger tyvärr också ett lite dött intryck med den plastiga ytan.
