Som jag skrev i mitt inledanade inlägg så har jag hört talas om att de fanns tidigare men det har jag inga ref. på. Har du någon ref. på dessa från vendeltid? Den bild Ulf/Vargman bifogade är dock utan tvivel ett försök till en 1300 tals rekonstruktion.

På Gothiceye verkar det som man redan på 1320 ha mer eller mindre heltäckande plåt. Stämmer det eller är gravstenarna av senare datum? Kolla in Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford död 1321!

Jag tror att att de fått det hela om bakfoten på gothiceye, detta måste föreställa den sista av Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford linjen som dog 1373. Kan tilläggas att det fanns 7 st Humphrey de Bohun innan, den fjärde Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford dog 1322 detta föreställer nog iallfall Humphrey de Bohun, 7th Earl of Hereford eller så gjordes effigin vid senare tillfälle och det nu är den den fjärde Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford som avbildas, för precis som du säger så stämmer inte riktigt rustnings modet med vad som var gängse på 1320 talet.

Kan tilläggas att Humphrey de Bohun, the 7th Earl of Hereford och Sir Miles Stapleton var medlemmar i samma ordern, dvs Strumpebands ordern.
