Eftersom det inte verkar vara några som kör 1200 tal i Malmö/Skånetrakten kommer jag att köra 1300 tal, mycket läder och plåt =)

Dessutom så kör vikingarna många gånger utan skydd förutom sköld. Visserligen så slår de inte efter underarmar och ben, men nu brukar ju oftast de elaka träffarna inte vara avsiktliga. Dock så har jag inte sett mer på underarmar än blåmärken.
Armbågen är ju en punkt där det bevisligen gör ont att bli träffad, så där kan jag nog rekommendera en metallkopp som för 1350 är helt purjo.

Det finns en modell som passar runt 1350 med stålförstärkt krage som skyddar en stor del av underarmen. Sedan armbågskoppar på det.
Annars så förstärk underarmarna på gamben.
Dessutom var faktist härdat läder inte helt fel. Det finns i varje fall en del omnämnanden från brittiska öarna om härdat läder som skydd för knän, armbågar, underarmar, ja, även lätta harnesk.

Gör gamben rejäl bara! Ta kraftigt filtyg i minst två lager, men hellre 3-4 och linne över och under. Tänk på att reglera när du gör armarna så du kan röra dig. Hauberk på det och du är ganska tålig. Kom ihåg att det är bra att man kan känna träffarna också.

Det är riktigt snyggt att bara köra med brynja och tunnhjälm men jag känner ändå att jag vill ha någon form av skydd under brynjan. Framför allt om man tänker köra lite hårdare sparring med stålvapen.

Ett alternativ är att bära en HEMA fäktjacka (plastskydd) under gamben, men plast känns lite osmakligt i de här sammanhangen.

Vad jag vet så använde man ibland skydd av härdat läder under brynjan på 1200 talet, curie tror jag att skyddet för torson hette. Jag är även säker på att jag läst om härdade läderskydd för underarmarna i 1100-1200 tals sammanhang.

Och ja, forumet känns jättedött just nu, tur att det finns gamla inlägg som man kan läsa och lära. Kul att få bolla lite frågor med dig, kanonfina tips jag fick av dig ang hosorna.

Själv skulle jag säga att du i så fall hellre bör göra antingen en plata (typ Visbyharnesk) eller en surkot ("armoured surcotte") med plåtar fastnitade på insidan. Båda plaggen bärs ovanför brynjan - ska man bära brynja ihop med någon form av plåt ska den senare alltid vara överst.

Om du inte är säker på att vapentröja och brynja räcker kan du ju annars köra med en vadderad jupon över brynjan

Till min glädje fann jag det här forumet där det verkar finnas hur mycket kunskap som helst.

Jag tänke köra 1200 tal och 1350 tal

Nu till pudelns kärna: Jag undrar om tips för skydd under brynjan för 1200 talaren. Bara gambeson och brynja känns klent om man ska köra med bluntade stålsvärd.

Funderade på att sy fast 1-1,5 mm plattjärn längst stoppningarna på gamben, sen ev klä det i lädet så att man inte ser att det är plåt under. Vad tror ni om det? Någon bättre ide?
