Det är ett tungt arbete att tillverka en sådan lyra och det kan vara svårt att få tag på bra virke i de dimensjoner som krävs (hela instrumentkroppen huggs ut ur ett stycke trä). Jag har själv gjort två Kraviklyror, varav den en var på beställning. Jag har för avsikt att tillverka fler i framtiden.

Jag tror exemplet gitarr togs upp som representant för den gruppen instrument. Det finns ju diverse andra "gitarr-liknande" instrument som har anor långt tillbaka i tiden. Själv är jag dålig på namnen på dessa instrument (men har hört tex laud och luta) Det finns många avbildningar från medeltiden där det spelas på "gitarr-släktingar" och även dessa borde ju gå att vända på för en vänsterhänt.

Om man vill komma lite närmre tidsenlighet kan man kanske sikta på mandolin. De buktiga, av typen grekisk bouzoki (eller hur det nu må stavas), skulle åtminstone inte störa mig om jag såg det på ett arrangemang. I vilket fall långt mindre än en gitarr. Sen finns det ju massa andra instrument, men mandolinens förfader (som e ganska lik, iallafall fair enough, heter "cittern" på engelska.) Det här är en bra artikel om diverse gitarrliknande kreationer genom seklerna...



Anledningen till varför jag tycker att det är lämpligare att införskaffa en mandolin/cittern än en luta eller en gitarr är för att lutor, som det står i artikeln, "tend to be a bit on the expensive side of things." En hyfsad kompromiss mellan tidsenlighet och ekonomi.

Bara en fundering med det där med fingrarna.... finns det inte "vänsterhänta" gitarrer (m.fl. liknande instrument)? Så man kan använda högerhanden till finmotoriken på strängarna, det kan ju var idé att kolla upp =)

Å andra sidan byggde han den själv av ett plaströr och ett väldigt litet antal komponenter. Så de är inte direkt kommersiellt tillgängliga....
