Därför förstår inte jag din reaktion på mitt inlägg!

Jag har inte närmare studerat remdetaljer vare sig från Vikingatid eller medeltid, därför tar jag mig friheten att skriva "lite knepigt att tornen är av järn"!

Min erfarenhet av remsöljor sträcker sig till att jag genom att ha begåvats med en klädsam rondör har gjort småflis av ett antal tornen genom åren[:)]

Tillverkar andra dräktdetaljer och vet ju att järn har använts i nålar för spännbucklor, likarmade spännen och annat. Det beror väl på att det ger hållfasthet och att de som Matti skriver kan göras tunnare.

Det finns ett stort problem med dateringen av post-medeltida bältesdetaljer, det finns mig veterligen inga bra katalogiseringar och några fanatiska kalenderbitare som systematiserat dylika fynd. Möjligen då det kommer till uniformdetaljer men annars är det svårt.

Rent spontant ser ditt spänne mycket ålderdomligt ut med den konstiga utväxten, datering allt ifrån 1500-1850 typ, någonstans där emellan... :-P
