Härmed utfärdas en varning! Om det är de dräkter jag tror det är (de som finns i "terrarierummet" en trappa upp) är de lastgamla och har mer gemensamt med vad som just då var billigt i tygaffären än med vikingatid - dessutom har de nålat/sytt fast originalsmycken (korroderade jordfynd som iofs är vikingatida) på dräkterna. Den som studerat mansdräkten har säkert förundrats över de tjusiga mockastövlarna från 70-talet...
Ibland sägs det att det är bättre att visa fram något hellere än inget alls - men det gäller inte här. Glöm de där dräkterna - de borde inte visas fram eftersom de är sydda efter föråldrade/aldrig existerande textilarkeologiska tolkningar!

Det är förresten inte "flappa-flappa" så till vida att den är helt öppen i sidorna utan den har ett par tre "band" på var sida, som håller ihop fram och bakstycke... några centimeter breda i samma vinröda tyg...

Som du säkert vet är det väldigt svårt att veta hur vikingaras kläder såg ut, så man blir tvungen att gissa mycket. Många som återskapar vikingatiden tycker inte att "flappa flappa-modellen" verkar särskilt trolig eftersom den är opraktisk och hänger ner i det man arbetar med.

Sedan har vi det blå och vinröda linnetyget. Det har hittats både rött och blått linnetyg i Birka, så det kan ju ha varit det museet har velat visa. Men annars verkar färgat linne ha varit ovanligt, och hängsleklänningarna (i alla fall i Birka) var för det mesta av ylle.

Jag hoppas att det finns någon här på forumet som vet mer om just den dräkten du undrar över. Annars är det väl bara att ringa till museet och fråga.

Jag såg en klänning på länsmuseet i Visby på en liten flicka á la papp-modell... Flickan alltså... klänningen var i linne! Hon hade en mörkt blå underklänning och en vinröd överklänning. Det var en hängselklänning som inte var som en tub. Jag minns nu inte vad det kallas med mer som ett förkläde fram och ett bak som satt ihop med band i samma förg som tyget i sidorna och över axlarna. Nu till min fråga: Närifrån är fyndet? Jag kan för mitt liv inte hitta mitt anteckningsblock!! Finns här någon som kan berätta mer om fyndet?
