tyvärr är det nog inte så mycket att veta. Så vitt jag vet finns det inga exempel på heraldiska civil kläder - det är något som förekommer enbart i manuskript och gravmonument. I och för sig är ju det inte något som bestämt bevisar att det inte existerade sådana plagg, men det finns heller inte några belägg (så vitt jag vet) på dem i garderobe rullorna i franska/engelska kungahusen under denna period, och det skulle man ju liksom vänta sig.
däremot finns det gott om notationer om plagg dekorerade med bärarens heraldiska symboler, eller diverse andra viktiga symboler, till och med motton.

Jag skulle vilja summera det som så, att om dessa kläder användes, skulle jag gissa att de bars vid turneringar (som spektakel) eller vid mycket högtidliga hov tillfällen (eftersom de för det mesta visas som hovdräkt i gravmonumenten). Bevisen finns inte, så det är ren spekulation. Däremot kan du mycket väl, och dokumenterbart, täcka din klänning med en semee av en symbol från ditt vapen, eller något annat som är viktigt. strö gärna ett ton pärlor över den också.[;)]

apropos det ja. har ni tillgång till sötvatten pärlor till broderi där i den kalla norden?

Luttrellskriften som ni talar om var svår för mig att hitta något från på nätet, men den bild som jag hänvisade till tidigare visade sig vara från den! Den visar en riddare till häst med fru och dotter brevid som tar avsked, enligt bildtexten i min bok i alla fall. Är det den som ni också talar om? Det ser ju faktiskt ut som att klänningen faktiskt haft det mönstret för en lekman som mig.

Varning dock: Boken är _tjock_. Och i folioformat!
