Herjolfsnes ar nog inte en bra representant for andra omraden eftersom de inte hade en inhemsk produktion av linne och darfor inte hade nagot annat an ylletrad att valja pa mesta tiden.

I vilka "alla jordfynd"?
Herjolfsnes (1300-1400-tal) är ett exempel där det finns rester på ulltråd, och sedan senaste inlägget har jag också hittat att Högomdräkten (400-550) är sydd helt i ulltråd. Men vad finns det mer för källor?

Ibland verkar man faktiskt ha använt silketråd även till att sy ihop ylletextilier med: <i>"Silk thread can also be found used upon woollen cloth, not only for ornamental purposes but also for buttonholes, <b>hems and seams</b>."</i>

Jag har hitintills bara gjort så ör att jag tycker det funkar bäst. Har faktiskt inte kollat på källor på just sytråd ännu.

Jag skulle rekomendera att sy med ulltråd. Ulltråden upplever jag är mer flexibel och inte så hård som lin. Sömmarna får lite mer giv. I förhållande till krympning av tyget och blekning av färgerna så följer ulltråd också ulltyget bättre.

tankte fråga om tråd för det här projektet när jag ändå är i farten, om man skullle sy röda hoser i ull, skulle man då andvänt ullgarn färjad röd, eller oblekt/färjad lin tråd? känner mig lite osäker på detta har både och hemma.

P.S älskar det här forumet så mycket kunskap på samma plats.

För fotdelen har jag själv sytt fast den mot bendelen med efterstygn och sedan sytt ner sömsmånen med fällsöm (t.v. på s. 16 i länken ovan). Har man en fotdel som sys ihop under foten är det bekvämast med den överlappande söm som visas t.h. på länken ovan, samma sida.
