Det finns flera just från Mary I's tid.
Det är troligt, om man jämför med andra samtida porträtt och skriftliga uppgifter att det som kragen sitter fast i och som ser ut som ett ok är en lös del, kallad partlet. dessa var vid dena tid oftast i svart tyg och bars utanpå klänningen. Senare var partleten en slags fusköverdel till särken som man då hade nedstoppad i klänningen. Poängen med det var att man kunde dekorerar den med vad katten som helst eftersom den inte behövde tvättas lika ofta som särken behövde.

I Hollywoodfilmerna ser man ofta överklänningar och rockar med hög krage i halsen (vi pratar 10-15 cm rakt upp). Finns det historiska belägg för dessa kragar? I vilka tidsperioder förekom de i sådana fall och hur såg de ut i de olika tidsperioderna?

Det finns upprättstående kragar under framförallt senmedeltid. Men 10-15 centimeter är klart mer än vad som kan beläggas (rätta mig om jag har fel).
