Måste struthättor sys med kilar? Mönstret från Sophias ateljé har det inte (jag har förstått att detta borde vara detsamma som ett jakande svar på min fråga, men hennes struthättemönster är dock ett av de få som Eva Andersson inte kritiserat, bortsett från nitar och snörning). Om jag syr efter det mönstret kommer min hätta automatiskt att bli väldigt ful eller omöjlig att ta och ha på sig då?

På det mönstret finns även två modeller på struthättor. En med en lång smal strut som är lika smal hela vägen ända från roten, och en som är bredare vid roten och smalnar av (alltså lite mer trekantig än varmkorvformad). De arkelogiska fynd som finns på Karin Larsdatters hemsida verkar alla likna den första modellen. Är den andra modellen historiskt oriktig?

Som man kan se så fanns det olika sätt att konstruera dem, några hade lång strut och några kort, och kilarna på slaget kunde vara isatta vid axeln eller fram- och baktill.

Det brukar också gå att köpa Bockstensmannens mönster lite här och var, men min erfarenhet är att den struthättan blir väldigt trång i halsen och svår att få över huvudet. Det bästa är nog att kolla på de olika modeller som fanns, och sedan utifrån dem försöka konstruera en modell som passar just dig i måtten!
