Arnolds egen def. av "paned" återfinns på s. 59, stycke 1, raderna 6-9 i nämnda "Patterns of Fashion...1560-1620"

"...hose were often paned, i.e. arranged with vertical stripes of material hanging from waist to leg, parting to reveal the lining beneath..."

Mitt råd är att systematiskt och noggrant läsa igenom relevanta delar av Arnold publikation. Instruktionerna där är näst intill heltäckande och med hjälp av dem är det inga problem att sätta ihop ett par Sture-byxor, vilken model du än vill försöka dig på. Dock kan Svantes vara aningen lättare att förstå eftersom konstruktionen är något enklare än för de andra två.

För mig hjälpte det mycket eftersom hon beskriver kosntruktionen så ingående. Det kan vara lite krångligt att förstå, men brukar ge sig efter ett par försök. Boken finns på flera bibliotek i landet.

Panes är alltså de paneler som ligger utanpå den stora tygmassan som är själva pöset på pluderhosorna. Vill du se en bild på sådana hosorna i fråga kan du titta på det är de byxorna som heter Paned Trunkhose.

Jag har för mig att jag hört dem kallas panåer på svenska men jag kan inte skriva under på detta.

Jag kan försöka ge dig lite hjälp om du vill.
Man gör en linning som är bekvämt bred (ca 7 cm bred) "knäppningen" kan med fördel vara en snörning (som sedan döljs av en blygdkapsel).

Sedan mäter du hur långa panåerna (pans) du ska ha för att de ska gå ner till knät, eller dit du vill ha dem, och ha lagom häng. OBS de panåer som går över ruman måste vara längre än de andra för att byxorna ska sitta bekvämt. Du ska även ha en panå som bår ganska tajt från mitten av ryggen och fram till mitt fram i midjan över grenen. Det kan framkalla känslan av att ha string på sig men man behöver inte sätta den så tajt ;o)

Sedan gör du ett band som ska vara lixom avslutningen ovanför knät, eller där du vill ha den, det är ett band ungefär lika brett eller lite smalare än det du har i midjan. Tänk på att du ska kunna få detta över knät när du vill ta av dig eller ta på dig.

Innerbyxorna är det lilla problemet. Det som finns i benen är egentligen bara två stora fyrkantiga rör som monstroöst förstora för ändamålet och har en nerskäning på innersidorna så man kan fästa en stor grenbit, som eg. bara är en rak tygbit som är för bred för att få lite på där med men inte mycket för bred för det kan vålla "platsbrist". Detta hade varit lättare om jag kunde rita direkt här i forumet.

För det första, kan någon översätta ordet: "Paning" till mig? Hittar det inte i något lexikon vare sig på nätet eller i andra lexikon...

Jag har kikat lite i boken Patterns of fashion 1560-1620, på pluderhosorna där, samt försökt använda mig av ett, på Gotlands medeltidsvecka, inköpt engelskt mönster, som jag absolut inte förstår mig på...Mönstret heter "Mid to late 1600, Trunkhose. "Petty chapman".
Mönstret innehåller ingen som helst sömnadsbeskrivning, mönsterdelarna är sneda och vinda och framför allt en stor del, är väldigt "osäker" hur den ska klippas ut.
En av delarna i mönstret hittar jag absolut inget som liknar, bland pluderhosorna i Patterns of fashion...
Kan någon hjälpa mig? [xx(]
