Jag har tittat lite på cottesimple också, det blir nog en sådan någon gång med, kan vara bra att ha då man syr moderna kläder också.

Handelsgillets mönster råder det lite delade meningar om, men på det hela taget är de i alla fall bättre historiskt sett än Sophias (undantaget bland Sohpias mönster är det med Bockstensmannen som är gjort ihop med Varbergs museum).

Cottesimple är en väldigt bra sida - även om du skaffar dig ett mönster att sy efter kan du behöva prova in det så det passar just dig och då finns det mycket att hämta där.

Inget färdigt mönster, men jättebra steg för steg instruktion till hur du får till en tajt klänning. Det enda du behöver är en kompis, nålar, tråd och ett stycke tyg. Ät mycket lättare än vad man tror och ger ett individuellt anpassat mönster.

Har du kikat runt i de andra trådar som finns om mönster? (sök på århundradet du är intresserad av och mönster, t.ex. "1400-tal mönster")

Kass McGann som gör mönstren är duktig och även om de kostar lite så är de väl-researchade och historiskt underbyggda.

Jag är inte så bra på att göra egna mönster, jag försökte mig på Moy Bog-kjorteln som finns på dräktsidorna här, men det gick inge bra. Jag har sytt en del moderna kläder förut så jag har lite syerfarenhet iaf.

Jag har Sofias 1300-tals klänning mönster hemma, men jag har fått bestämd avrådan från att använda det.

Jag vet inte om jag borde ha gjort en ny tråd för det här, vill inte "sno" någon annans tråd, men jag vet inte riktigt hur det funkar här än.

En bra bok som i detalj tar upp jonanniterbrödernas utrustning: Christa Hook har på plansh E avbildat en broders kläder runt 1200: skjortor, brokar, hosor, mantlar mössor m.m. På plansh G har hon återgivit deras stridsutrustning runt år 1230, bl.a. vapentröjor (gambeson) brynjor, hjälmar m.m.

Det vanligaste plagget (som motsvarar både tröja och jacka, litegrann beroende på situation och väderlek) är en s.k. Kjortel/Tunika. Ser ut ungefär såhär (finns i otaliga varianter): http://www.urda.se/garderob/skisser/kjortel.html

Till saken hör dock att en riddare troligen snarare burit en tunn linneskjorta, och däröver burit ett kraftigt vadderat plagg, en s.k. gambeson. Denna skapar en vaddering till brynjan/rustningen (som bärs över) och är en minst lika viktig del av rustningen som själva metalldelarna.
