Läder är att föredra. När det är vinter ute fryser metalltråden fast i handskarna. Sedan tycker jag att man lättare får blåsor i händerna av metalltråd. Jag har för övrigt inte sett några svärd från medeltid med metalltråd på kaveln (det kanske finns, men jag kan inte påminna mig att jag sett nått). Det är vanligt på 1800-talet dock.
